What makes the Mt. Caribou knife an great wilderness survival knife?

7” (178mm) spear point blade is hand forged from a piece of lumber mill saw blade carbon steel. A molybdenum, chromium, nickel wear resistant steel. The spine is a hefty 5/16” (8mm). The finger guard is a piece of feller buncher chainsaw bar welded to the tang and brazed with copper. The tang is tapered and hollow ground putting the knife balance at the finger guard. Moose antler scales are held with threaded stainless steel pins and peened over. The lanyard hole has a copper insert and is strung with a short hand braided lanyard. An 8mm thick head saw tooth is welded to the end of the tang and backed with a thick piece of leather. The steel pommel is designed for hammering, prying, digging, smashing and breaking. Not light duty. The Mt. Caribou knives won't fail. The heat treatment is thorough. The knife is differentially hardened with clay, then, differntially tempered with a torch and oven giving the knife strength and toughness where needed, guards and butts are welded to the the tangs using oxy/acetylene.
