Custom Ulu Knife
8 1/2 inches of razor edge. High bevels on a high carbon lumber mill saw steel blade. Moose antler scales. The patina was created during the hardening process with clay and glass. It helps ward off rust.

High carbon steel custom ulus. Recovered from lumber mill saw blades. After we cut, shape and finish the blades of the ulu knives we harden and differentially temper the blade and stem. The stems are tough and the edge is strong.

Heavy Duty Handmade Ulu Knife with a Juniper Handle
We cut a grove of small juniper off a farmer’s ridge overlooking the Fraser river. Dead trees, slow growing, tight grain and at least 300 years old. The farmer talked of seeing mule deer rutting from the ridge some 400 feet below beside the river.

Custom Made Ulu in a Block For Your Kitchen
Our lighter ulu blades are from recovered band saw blade from local lumber mills. The blade is easy to sharpen. High bevels, thin carbon steel edge.
The kitchen ulu shown has a dropped mule deer antler crown handle. The knife is sitting in an apple wood knot block. The block has been soaked in tung oil to stabilize and freeze the knots. It sits securely on your counter top in the ready.
