We recover 1/4 and 5/16 inch thick saw blades from lumber mills in central  British Columbia for the steel. Big saw blades, 4 -6 feet in diameter.
The saw blade steels we hand forge are high quality carbon steels, very tough and hold a strong edge.
Another choice of steel stock we build from would be leaf spring steel, 5160, for larger, heavier adze heads.
Spring steel is an excellent high carbon steel for adze blades cutting through tough knots and leaving finish behind.

We handforge, harden and then differentially temper the blades. These hand tools are tough, strong and balanced.  You can request the angle of blade to handle, handle length and the shape of the adze edge.
